Create Clarity and Purpose in 2025

My Word of the Year for 2025

As I look ahead to 2025, I’ve chosen FOCUS as my word of the year and “focus my soul” as my guiding phrase. This choice stems from my reflections on 2024, a year filled with wonderful moments but also marked by distractions that pulled my energy in many different directions.

Numerologically, 2025 is a collective nine-year, symbolizing completion and closure, while personally, it is a three-year, for me, associated with creativity, expression, and connection. To make the most of this magical year, I knew I needed a word that would ground and guide me—a word that would help me channel my energy and align with my highest potential.

Why Focus Matters

Intentional living is a core theme in my writing and teaching. Being awake in your own experience is the first step to living purposefully. But awareness alone isn’t enough; we also need to direct our energy in ways that serve our highest good. As my mentor Beca Lewis says, “What you focus on magnifies.” This simple yet profound truth reminds me that clarity and attention are powerful tools for creating our desired life.

When we want to manifest our dreams, attract the resources we need, or create something meaningful, focus becomes our compass. It’s about clarifying what we want and channeling our energy and intention toward those goals. Without focus, it’s easy to scatter our energy across too many things, leaving us overwhelmed and unfulfilled.

The Challenge of Distraction

Life is full of demands on our time and energy. Work responsibilities, health concerns, relationships, pets, and countless other commitments can pull us in many directions. For someone like me, who loves saying yes to new experiences, prioritizing can be incredibly challenging. I often find myself wanting to do it all—to explore every opportunity and immerse myself in every moment. But at the end of the day, we only have so many hours and energy.

Choosing focus means acknowledging and using these limits as a framework for clarity. It’s about saying no to the good so I can say yes to the great. It’s about aligning my actions with my intentions and making conscious choices about where to invest my time and energy.

The Feelings Behind Focus

To embody my word of the year, I also needed to connect it with the feelings I wanted to cultivate. When I am focused, I feel:

  • Invincible—fully present and confident in my ability to overcome challenges.
  • Magnetic—drawing opportunities and inspiration into my life effortlessly.
  • Intuitive—trusting my inner guidance and acting from a place of alignment.
  • Inspired and Imaginative—open to creative possibilities.
  • Powerful and Limitless—recognizing my potential and stepping into it.
  • Productive—creating meaningful results without feeling drained or overextended.

I aim to embody these feelings as vibrational frequencies throughout the year. They guide my actions and help me stay attuned to the energy I want to bring into my life.

Focus as a Practice

Focus isn’t just a mindset; it’s a practice. It requires:

  1. Clarity—knowing what you truly want and why it matters.
  2. Intention—directing your energy toward your goals with purpose.
  3. Boundaries—protecting your time and energy from distractions.
  4. Action—taking deliberate steps to bring your vision to life.

This isn’t just about productivity in the traditional sense. It’s about aligning your external actions with your internal truth. It’s about cultivating focus to create a life that feels vibrant, meaningful, and aligned with your soul’s purpose.

An Invitation for You

As you enter this new year, consider choosing your word of the year. Reflect on the feelings and frequencies you want to embody. Ask yourself: What do I want to magnify in my life? How can I align my intentions and actions to bring that vision to life?

By pairing your word with the vibrational feelings you wish to cultivate, you create a robust framework for transformation. Focus is my word, but yours might differ—peace, courage, abundance, or love. Whatever you choose, let it be your anchor and your guide as you navigate the year ahead.

Here’s to a year of clarity, alignment, and intentional creation. Let’s make 2025 a magical, magnetic year.
